A Lesson to be learned from typing the wrong e-mail address

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel that they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of the hectic schedule, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the next day.

The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address, and without realizing his error, sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband’s funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow’s son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen, which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I’ve arrived
Date: Oct. 16, 2004

I know you’re surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you’re allowed to send e-mails to your loved ones. I’ve just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing you then!
Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

p.s. - Sure is hot down here!!!

This was a funny thing that I heard. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Our Internet is down so I can't do anything, I was just now able to get a connection with my laptop.

2. Discipline of Submission: The Posture of Godliness

It saddens me that submission has been eliminated from our cultural vocabulary. Bringing our lives into submission to God's will in everything is the key to being a godly woman (Phil.2:8-11). It is the path to joy.

Submission applies to every area of our lives, and we begin by restoring the gospel to it's rightful place at the center of our thoughts and deeds every day. It's an ongoing, daily choosing of God's way over our own ways (James 4:7-10; Heb. 12:9). Is the will of God more important than our lives (Luke 9:24)? -Barbara Hughes

1. Discipline of the Gospel: The Source of Godliness

“Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Cor.15:3). To be a godly woman you must know what this gospel is, believe it, and make it the center of your life. Never lose the wonder of the gospel. John 3:16 is not only a beautiful summary of what God has done, it ought to be the true center of our living-defining, motivating, and satisfying us. The gospel is a woman’s first and most important discipline, for it is the source of godliness.

10 Disciplines of a Godly Woman -Barbara Hughes

This is a little thing I picked up while in my dad's office and thought it would be a cool thing to share. It's written by Barbara Hughes not by me :). I'll put one on each day.

Introduction-
Discipline seems like a hard word, but discipline is your lifeline, something that you learn to embrace and thank God for as you grow in Him.
The Apostle Paul links the idea of discipline with spiritual life: "Train yourself in godliness"-referring to a spiritual workout-for "godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come" (1 Tim.4:7-8). A Christian woman's life is about bringing her will and every area of her life under submission to God's will.

Home!!

There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.
I love home.

I don't want to leave for a long time, except for the Worldview Super Conference, hosted by Gary DeMar, at the end of this month. I'll leave for that :)

But really...its so good to be home. I love home, its so cozy, lovely, old, and just plain wonderful.
The trip was wonderful. I had a great time with all my family and friends.
God is so good. He has blessed my family with the money to go on this trip, and me with my wonderful family. I have so many cousins, all of them wonderful and unique and sweet in their own way, and I'm the oldest of them all and enjoy that privilege very much. God is indeed great.
And tomorrow I shall be going to apologetics and shall see all my good friends...hopefully-"are you guys going to be there?" :)
LOVE YOU ALL!!

Yesterdays Happenings

The Whole group

Here's us celebrating dad's b-day.
You know, many of you won't agree with this, but my dad truly is the best dad that ever walked the faces of this earth. I love him so much. He always puts up with us kids. He trains us with such love and devotion. He teaches us with such passion. He cares for us with such enthusiasm.
He is the smartest pastor. He always has answers to my questions, and gives them in the simplest way for us kids. Not because he only knows simply answers, for when I hear him talking to older men, he knows what he's talking about and it all goes over my head :)
He never gets frustrated with us. He has only really yelled at us one time, and we deserved it. But he never yells, at us. Never gets frustrated when we do stupid things, or when things aren't going right. Instead he shows us our wrong and disciplines us with love.
He truly is the best, loving, caring, smartest, gentle, dad that ever lived on this earth and ever will be.
He's my dad Kenny Anderson

This is the little western town we went too. It was so cool. They had a little bar area with a pool table. They had a game room with arcade machines and poker table. They had a movie theater, it was so coooooool. It had a big screen, a popcorn machine, surround sound, candy, lights, and couches that were really comfortable.

Here are pics of our first day. It was a lot of fun. We walked around the property, rode the horse and drove to a little western town and spent most of the day there.

We're Here!!!

At the Mitchells house in Portland

Traveling

Getting the wiggles out

Me

Chelsea and me
We made it!!
We are here in Washington, northern Washington, only about 30 min from Canada.
We use to live here, when I was younger and we haven't been here in 10 years. It so good to see all the old places and our cousins who live here.
On the way we stopped in Portland to see old friends who use to drive down to our church, but don't any more, because of the big drive.
Our family likes to stop, we like stop a lot, practically ever town we hit. We either eat, get gas or snacks or stop to look at different sites.

One stop we made we had to get gas and it was in Washington so we had to pump it ourselves and pay inside. My dad went in to pay, but forgot to push a button on the gas machine and he had to go back out, by then some of the kids decided to go the restroom, so mom was going in to pay this time and take the kids to the bathroom. We took off and drove for about an hour to Spokane when there was a police car behind us with his lights on.
Story short, my mom forgot to pay for the gas and the police had a look out for a white van with lots of kids :)

Theres a little taste of whats going on. I'll post pics of our first day here when its over :)
See ya!

Birthday Pictures

There I got some more on :)

This is the only pic I could get on. Our internet is extremely slow and low right now-its driving me crazy!

Birthday Stuff

As most of you know my 16th birthday was Tuesday-May 1st. But what you don't know is I had a little party Wednesday with Alex and William Goldman-and of that I shall tell a little about.

We got up (obviously) went to a planetarium thing at a high school. It was amazing, breath taking, marvelous, and neck breaking, because the projector was behind me so I had to sorta lay across the seat, and twist me neck and look up. But the beauty of it displayed the majesty of our God, how He created everything in such detail, and it all works together like clogs in a clock. Of course the teacher never put it that way.

After that we came home and mom and Karissa went shopping, to get some presents for me :).
We all (all as in-Goldmans, Kruses, Deems and my family) went ice skating. Which is always fun, but this time the turn off the lights and putted on the disco stuff...now that was fun. Afterwards we all went to a Mexican restaurant and opened presents...yippee! I got everything I love-earrings, necklaces, t-shirts and jeans, books, flip-flops, money sent from my other grandma(Mummu), cookie press, precious moments box with me birth stone on it, and most of all I got a Martin Guitar from my grandparents and dad and mom. I was so happy, excited, shocked at one time that I started crying (I'm a girl with messed up hormones) :) But I am also so blessed to have the family I have, just being with them and talking and having fun is such a gift to me. I love each and everyone of them.

So there you have a little bit about what happened. Now I look forward to tomorrow, and the big party with Dylan and Colleen. I'll post some pics later...so stay tune.
