Pics of Noah

I really like this picture. You can see the love that Grandpa Ken and Grandma Dot have for their grandkids. They had just gotten back from Bora Bora and had not seen Noah yet, except for on the blogs. The very day they got back Grandma took Des and Karissa shopping for him-and boy did he get spoiled. He is going to be one handsome man.

The Day of the Birth
Here is how it went-
Saturday night we all enjoyed a wonderful Sabbath meal prepared by our Grandma (Mummu is what we call her). We even had a "birthday cake", Of course we didn't know he was coming that very next day.

This was her last night as the baby of the family. Now she has joined the club of Older Sisters.
The first time mom got to hold him. Doesn't she look great for just having a baby :)
And a proud daddy, who was moms greatest comforterer through it all-I love them both so much.

This was her last night as the baby of the family. Now she has joined the club of Older Sisters. At 11:30 it started. We were all in bed, and at 3am Me, Karissa and Mummu all woke up. The baby arrived about 2 and a half hours later. I called all the moms who wanted to be there right away and they came not to late afterwards. Then I ran through the hallway yelling "its a boy" waking all the kids at like 6am. Then we just hanged around and called out names, watched him be weighed and so on.

God is so wonderful. Through the whole labor I was praying and trusting, knowing that God would work all things out for good, and for His glory.
Before all this had happened I had written a verse on our white board, knowing it was perfect for the time being-Ps.18:1-2
"I will love You, O LORD, my strength.

Prayer pt.4 (the last one)
How does in pray? The Apostles asked this question and Jesus in return gave them, as we now know it, The Lord’s Prayer. In prayer we are to express adoration of God, confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, give thanks for the goodness of God, and make petition for ourselves and others. In the Lord’s Prayer we see-adoration, petition, and confession. Also prayer is to be prayed to the Father in Christ name-John 14:13; 15:16; 16:13. This means we are invoking Christ mediation as the One who is our access to the Father and looking to Him for support. Another thing is, as I pointed out earlier, is our words are to be few – Ecc. 5:2 and James 1:19. Why-because god is above us and we are lower than Him. Would we talk live craxy in the presence of the president? –No…so why should we in the presence of a holy, majestic, sovereign God? The Bible tells us how to pray.
Now I have answered the why, when, where and how of prayer. Let me end on this verse taken from Ps. 102: 17-“He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and he shall not despise their prayer.”

Prayer pt.3
The Bible teaches us to pray both privately and in company with each other. Matt.6:6-“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Here we see to pray privately. But in Acts 1:14 and 4:24 we read about whole multitudes praying together. Is there a contradiction? No, because if you read the whole context of Matt.6, Jesus is comparing what we should do to what the Pharisees do. The Pharisees would go out into the street and pray to show how holy they are. But Jesus was saying that our reward is in heaven and that we are not go out in the streets to receive the praises of other men. 1 Tim. 2:8 “I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling.” So we are to pray every where, but in a humble and quiet manner, not to be show off but privately as well. Again there has to a balance as to where we are to pray.

Barbecue at Travis and Vickie's House!!!

Today Vickie and her son Travis invited all of the family (which is a large number) over for a barbecue. We had a blast! First we sorta just hanged out, you know talk and all that. Then we ate hot dogs prepared by Travis, and many of the other things that were there. After that Me, Travis, Dad, Tami and Alex just sorta jammed. It's the only time I get to play an electric guitar, so it was fun, but very loud :)
All in all it was a sweet time :)
