How does in pray? The Apostles asked this question and Jesus in return gave them, as we now know it, The Lord’s Prayer. In prayer we are to express adoration of God, confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, give thanks for the goodness of God, and make petition for ourselves and others. In the Lord’s Prayer we see-adoration, petition, and confession. Also prayer is to be prayed to the Father in Christ name-John 14:13; 15:16; 16:13. This means we are invoking Christ mediation as the One who is our access to the Father and looking to Him for support. Another thing is, as I pointed out earlier, is our words are to be few – Ecc. 5:2 and James 1:19. Why-because god is above us and we are lower than Him. Would we talk live craxy in the presence of the president? –No…so why should we in the presence of a holy, majestic, sovereign God? The Bible tells us how to pray.
Now I have answered the why, when, where and how of prayer. Let me end on this verse taken from Ps. 102: 17-“He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and he shall not despise their prayer.”

Hey Katrina, Glad to hear you have a new brother. You are going to be a great BIG sister. Love you sweetie....
I really enjoyed your study on prayer! What a great topic of discussion. thank you for your due diligence. I would say the three questions that I've been asked the most as a pastor on prayer are: (1) If God is working his sovereign plan and knows what He is going to do, why do we need to pray? & (2) Do we need to continue to pray for forgiveness if God has forgiven us of every sin we ever committed and will commit? & (3) What does it mean to 'pray without ceasing?' I know what my standard answers are to those questions but I was curious as to yours? Let me know what you think... Congratulations on the new brother :)
