A Great Quote

"Avoid a sugared gospel as you would shun sugar of lead. Seek the gospel which rips up and tears and cuts and wounds and hacks and even kills, for that is the gospel that makes alive again. And when you have found it, give good heed to it. Let it enter into your inmost being. As the rain soaks into the ground, so pray the Lord to let his gospel soak into your soul." CH Spurgeon

Radio Time

My Grandpa Ken does a radio show every week on the glyconutrients. Its channel 880 am. So today me and Levi went with him. It was fun- Levi did his David and Goliath thing and I sorta talked about the speech thing we are doing, and how I remember going down to Grandpa's office and sneaking into the phyto-bears (there Mannatechs version of gummy bears).I just got off the bumpy riding mower, mowing the field is fun to me. People think I'm weird to like it, but I get to listen to my ipod :) Kutless (a band) sure knows how to out blare a lawn mower.
Well...got to go get the kitchen clean before Kevin and Amy Jo Mcmorrow arrive, 'cause I get to babysit their kids. I'll check back later to see your comments, and I'll know if you don't leave one :) -Bye

Regionals Results

All my good friends who went to Regionals have broke, which means they will be going to Nationals (I think), which is the big tournament.

Colleen McMurray- Apologetics, Impromptu, Duo
Victoria Emmons- Apologetics, Duo, Dramatic Inturp, and we don't know if she's qualified in her speeches
Mary Owen- Dramatic Inturp
Natalie Emmons- Apologetics, Duo (her partner is her sister-Victoria).

We are all so proud and happy for them. And we pray that they will have courage as they go through semi-finals, and hopefully finals. :)

The Cheery Home

Thank God, O woman, for the quietude of your home, and that you are queen in it. Men come at eventide to the home; but all day long you are there, beautifying it, sanctifying it, adorning it, and blessing it. Better be there than wear Victoria’s crown. Better be there than carry the purse of a princess. It may be a very humble home. There may be no carpet on the floor. There may be no pictures on the wall. There may be no silks in the wardrobe; but, by your faith in God, and your cheerful demeanor, you may adorn that place with more splendor that the upholsterer’s hand ever kindled.

The cheerful woman makes herself more attractive, the meal more presentable, and her whole sparkle with fresh cents of her daily cleaning. Her whole house shines with the sweet music of her own delighted tones to welcome the laborer at evening. Ah! Love has stores from which can be borrowed at little cost kind words and warm smiles and a thousand other things which go straight to the heart thirsting for the endearments, the joys, and the repose of home.

Young people who are employed outside of their home, feel an imperative need of rest and comfort and love of their own fireside, when the end of the long day or toil has come. Blessed is the wife and mother who knows how to make the home bright and warm for all who enter!

How Great Is Our God - Chris Tomlin

The Hike

Hiking

And some more hiking

Up top

"Sorry, we lost him"

"And we almost lost them"

Waiting for the parents

He was pooped, so was I after carrying him :)

Up top

Today we went on a hike up Table Rock, with the Owens, Deems, Kruses and some other people we knew, but i don't know there names.
After being 1/2 hour late they almost gave up on us but just as they were heading off, low and behold the big white van pulled up...Yippee.
It was quite the hike, tiring, refreshing, exciting, and beautiful. God sure knew what he was doing when he made this world.
When we got to the top I yelled at all the kids to stay away from the edge, and of course the boys went as close as possible :)
We walked about 2 miles to the other end to see a weather station, which was about as fun as looking at a slab of cement.
But all in all it was a lot of fun.
Oh yeah...we went to Food for Less for ice cream afterwards...yummy!

p.s. we didn't really lose David :)

Happenings

Hello,
Its been a great time. Easter was like my perfect day; there are three things that I really enjoy in this world-sermons (church), good food, and movies and this day was full of them.

First we went to brunch which is always a pleasure. Then came home and watched Loves Unending Legacy. After that we headed off to church and Dad gave an awesome sermon. He's lately been going through the Ten Commandments and this was his last sermon on the 1st one, but it was all about how we aren't neutral, no one is neutral and that is just fitting into this post-modern world. And the call to tolerance, or "don't be judging" is only a neutral stand on morals, and the 1st commandment shows that God will not tolerate any other gods.
Dad also addressed the biggest book seller of our day- The Secret. The secret is idolatry of today, its the law of attraction, it follows the thinking that we're all energy, its all about one's self.
"You are god in a physical body" -The Secret.
He addresses that, "the solution to our problems is not within us, but rather the inside of us is the problem. "
Well anyways I'll have to write a whole post on his sermon, it was so good.
After church we all went to Ashland (the town I absolutely abhor) to see a movie called-The Ultimate Gift. It was really good, not one of those major movies, but it was still good.

So as you can see it was filled with my favorite things. And I forgot to mention that-spending time with all my family is a great joy and blessing.

Today was music lessons -Guitar for me, fiddle for Esther and piano for Karissa and Ellie. We also got together with cousins and Deems to watch the Francis Shaeffer videos, he has sooooooo much stuff its hard (very hard) to keep up. But it is all so good.

So that's whats been happening lately. Great stuff, isn't it :).
See ya all later!!!

Happy Resurrection Day Everyone!
Let the whole earth rejoice, Christ Jesus is risen!

"For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth." Job 19:25

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Rom 6:4

Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.
17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 1 Cor. 15: 12-14; 17

What an Average Housewife Does

It was brought out at a recent Northwestern University psychology class that during an average housewife’s lifetime she performs these tasks: Cooks 35,000 meals, makes from 10,000 to 40,000 beds, vacuums a rug a mile long and a tenth of a mile wide and cleans 7,000 plumbing fixtures.

"I will stay with you"

William and Mary Tanner were crossing a railroad track some years ago when Mary’s foot slipped and became wedged between the rail and a wooden crosswalk. Frantically she tried to get loose as a train approached around the curve. Her husband attempted to free her. As the express came closer with its brakes screeching, Mary realized it couldn't stop in time. “Leave me, Bill! Leave me!” she cried. Seeing his efforts were useless, he arose quickly and held her in his arms to protect her as much as possible. While bystanders shuddered in horror, the train thundered over them. It was reported that just before the engine hit them, they heard the brave man cry, “I’ll stay with you, Mary!”

This is a good example of the condition of man- Man is fallen and dead in his sins, he is completely helpless and cannot do anything about his condition. Actually man doesn't want to do anything, he likes living in his sin. He is blind, deaf and dead to the truth. As Mary couldn't free herself, she was helpless, so is man, he is stuck to his sin, but unlike Mary, he doesn't want to move out of the way of death- for the wages of sin is death.

The only way for man to see that he is sinful is by the Holy Spirit raising him from the dead, then, and only then, will we want to be saved from the path of destruction. But still man cannot achieve his salvation. We must all still face death, for that is the punishment of our sins. But Jesus Christ died so that we may have eternal life after death. Just as William would not forsake his wife but rather placed his body over her, the same is for Christ-He died for His bride. Even though we are in rebellion to Him, He would not forsake us-He died for us.

This story does not show the true gospel or the grace and love of our Father. Just merely an example of what Christ did. Christ went much further and did much more than any human can possibly imagine, we cannot comprehend all that He did. But we must follow His example.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Rom. 5:8

p.s.- I don't know if this was a true story.

Ten Most Wanted Men

The Ten Most-Wanted Men

1. The man who puts God’s business above any other business.

2. The man who brings his children to church rather than sends them.

3. The man who is willing to be the right example to every boy he meets.

4. The man who thinks more of his Sunday School class than he does his Sunday Sleep.

5. The man who measures his giving by what he has left rather than by the amount he gives.

6. The man who goes to church for Christ’s sake rather than for himself or someone else.

7. The man who has passion to help rather than to be helped.

8. The man who can see his own faults before he sees the faults of others.

9. The man who stands firm in his convictions, based on the Word of God, i.e. a “backbone” Christian.

10. The man who is more concerned about winning souls for Christ than he is about winning honor.

Pics

Here are some pics I took this morning. Karissa made the dresses herself.
